Leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter dissolves executive officers in across twenty three local government areas of the state.

The management committee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter has dissolved the local government executives of the NYCN across the 23 local government areas of the state. 

State Public Relations Officer of the NYCN, Adokiye Mujiton who disclosed this in a statement, said the dissolution was in line with the by-law of the state NYCN as amended which stipulates a two year tenure for the NYCN local government officers. 

The statement while noting the state executive led by Ambassador Sukubo Sara Igbe Sukubo enjoyed a cordial working relationship with the LGA coordinators, however urged the twenty three local government coordinators to submit all documents and properties of the youth body in their possession NYCN state secretariat in Port Harcourt. 

Meanwhile, the former NYCN coordinator of Bonny local government Area, Simeon Wilcox, who spoke on behalf of the twenty three local government area coordinators, commended the state executive for the opportunity given them to serve the youths of the state, however appealed to the Rivers State government to prioritize the issue of youth development in the state. 

He maintained that paucity of funds during their tenure as local government officers stalled youth activities in the state, while calling on the government to dissociate actual governance from politics.
