RwGNews: Anxiety over Buhari’s son’s health

The state of health of Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, caused anxiety at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday. Yusuf, who was involved in a bike accident in Abuja on Tuesday night, sustained a head injury and had one of his limbs broken.


He had undergone a surgery at a private hospital in Abuja.
An online report had claimed that Yusuf was flown abroad in the early hours of Thursday for medical treatment.

Although the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, had denied the report. In a text message, Shehu said: “That is not true please.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Shehu said “Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident last night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition. “The President and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son. May God reward you all.”
