As political institutions across the country gear up for the 2019 general elections, a group known as South South Alliance for Atiku 2019 has inaugurated its national and state executives.

Some of the national officers inaugurated include, Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich - Director General, Hon. Elem Chukwu Obowu - Chairman, Board of Trustees , Hon. Rita Daniels Chukwudi - Chairperson, Kenneth Mordi - Secretary, Barrister James Oru - legal adviser, Hon. Kate Obusoh - Women Leader, Helen Jack Wilson - Treasurer, Afam Okereke - Organizing Secretary, Regina Daniels - Director for Youths, Mercy Obi - Welfare Officer, Francis Akpa - Admin, Barrister Onari Awo Tariah - Director of Mobilization, while Abraham Ebini was appointed - Rivers State Coordinator, Curtis Dike - Rivers State Director General, amongst others. 

Director General of the group, Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich speaking shortly after the inauguration of the executives at Usokun, Degema, charged them to embark on massive mobilization and sensitization of members of the public, in order to drum up support for the emergence of the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubarkar as the next president of Nigeria, saying the present All Progressives Congress led federal government has failed. 

Also speaking, the national chairperson of the group, Hon. Rita Daniels Chukwudi said the leadership style of Atiku Abubarka is not that of a dictator, but a true democrat who is always willing to listen to and share in the concerns and problems of the populace, with a view to addressing them. 

On his part, Director General, South South Alliance for Atiku, Rivers State chapter, Curtis Dike noted that the south south has so much to benefit if Atiku Abubarka emerges as the next president of Nigeria, saying the massive turnout at the event was indicative that the people of the region are desirous of a genuine change. 

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the state PDP, Elem Chukwu Ogbowu told correspondent Victor Effiong that the time was up for the APC led federal government, and commended Jackrich popularly known as Egberi Papa for keying into the vision of ensuring the emergence of Atiku Abubarka as the next president of Nigeria. 

Our correspondent reports the states making up the South South Alliance for Atiku 2019 include Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Delta and Edo states.
