South South Alliance for Atiku, a formidable socio-political action group has concluded plans to fully mobilize its members across the state to join the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party to commence political campaigns for the PDP presidential candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar (GCON), the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Nyesom Wike (CON) and all the PDP candidates in the 2019 general elections in the state.

This followed the adoption of a motion moved in favour of the action by the State Director of Mobilization, SSAFA, Barr. Onari Awo-Tariah at a maiden stakeholders meeting of the group in Port Harcourt on November 6th, 2018.

During the event, Rivers State Coordinator, SSAFA, Abraham Ebini tasked members of the group to comb the nooks and cranny of the state to shop for new members ahead of the inauguration of the local government chapter executives of the group for the November 15th, 2018 LGA/Ward inauguration.

On his part, the Director General, SSAFA Rivers State Chapter, Curtis Dike charged all those who are to be inaugurated as local government officers to ensure that they and all members within their LGAs get the SSAFA T-shirts and face cap, as that will serve as the official uniform for the event.

He equally warned members against playing double standards, saying every true member of the group who believes in the emergence of Atiku Abubarkar as the next president of Nigeria should equally put same effort in working passionately for the victory of all PDP candidates in the state for the polls.

Curtis Dike while berating the President Muhammadu led APC federal government for negligence towards the development of Rivers State and the Niger Delta despite enjoying sponsorship to the seat of presidency with Rivers money, however expressed optimism that Atiku when elected into office as the next president of Nigeria, will turn around the fortunes of the state, the Niger Delta people and the country at large.

The meeting was attended by National officers, Rivers State executives of the group and members.
