RIVERS ETHNIC YOUTH LEADERS CALL FOR THE ARREST OF OUTGOING ELEME COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, OBARILORMATE OLLOR, OVER PLANS TO FOIST MAYHEM ON RIVERS PEOPLE
Our attention has been drawn to a worrisome trending video circulating on social media, featuring the outgoing Local Government Council Chairman of Eleme, Hon. Obarilormate Ollor. In this viral video, he is seen and heard urging Rivers people to stay away from the Local Government area or face dire consequences, threatening that they would "see their forefathers."
Firstly, let us state unequivocally that if there is anyone who should stay away from the LGA Secretariats, it is Hon. Obarilormate Ollor and his colleagues, whose tenures will expired at midnight on Monday, 17th July 2024. According to the law, it is these political opportunists, who have exhibited traits of power obsession, that are forbidden from coming close to the 23 Local Government Council Secretariats in Rivers State.
As peace-loving youths, we call on the Inspector General of Police, the Rivers State Police Commissioner, the Directorate of State Security Service, and other relevant security authorities to immediately detain Hon. Obarilormate for questioning over his planned disruption of the peace in Rivers State. Hon. Obarilormate Ollor and his co-travelers should understand that they do not have a monopoly on violence. It appears that Hon. Obarilormate Ollor and his cohorts are yet to wake up to the reality that the dark days of evil prevailing over good in Rivers State are over.
The youth, people, and residents of Rivers State are fully prepared to take their destinies into their own hands. It is deeply unfortunate that such a threat of mayhem comes from a man who should be seen as a father figure, especially on a day when responsible fathers worldwide are being celebrated.
We also take this opportunity to advise parents to urge their wards to refrain from becoming tools in the hands of these individuals who seek to disrupt the peace established by our people's oriented and peace-loving Governor, Amaopusenibo Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State. Should any harm come to any council staff or law-abiding Rivers youth, Hon. Obarilormate Ollor should shall be held accountable.
