PMAN FLAGS OF GOSPEL COMMUNITY WING IN RIVERS STATE.
The Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria - PMAN, River State Chapter has announced the formation of the PMAN Gospel Community wing of the organization.
Governor of PMAN in Rivers State, Tamunotonye Gbenga Olowo who made the announcement during an interface with some gospel music artistes in Port Harcourt, said the move was in line with the vision of the President of PMAN, Mr Pretty Okafor to ensure a level playing field for all entertainers to benefit from their God-given gifts and potentials irrespective of their culture, religion or any other consideration.
Tamunotonye Gbenga Olowo popularly known as the Lamaya King said the move has also demonstrated that PMAN does not exist to favour only a section of musicians, but was open to accommodate all entertainers in Rivers State.
He said the era of disintegration and disunity has been done away with, saying entertainers under his watch are now poised to take what rightfully belongs to them both at the state and national levels.
The PMAN governor maintained that members of the PMAN Gospel Community will equally enjoy all rights, privileges and benefits accrued to entertainers as was promised them by the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Siminialaye Fubara when they paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House recently.
While charging the gospel artistes to come up with meaningful programs and activities that will attract key stakeholders to invest in the entertainment sector of the state to compete favourably with other climes, said the entertainment sector whether gospel or secular has the potential to attract rapid development and enhance the socioeconomic potentials of the state.
He called on all gospel artistes and entertainers in the state to identify with the PMAN Gospel Community to move the entertainment sector forward, adding PMAN was committed to the wellbeing of all entertainers in the state.
On his part, State Secretary of PMAN, Ezekiel Benibo popularly known as Ice-Tee (Black Moses), said the PMAN Gospel Community wing will be inaugurated on the 1st of July, 2024 during the state congress of the organization and that appointment letters will be issued to executives that shall pilot the affairs of the Gospel Community for a period of time.
Responding on behalf of the gospel artistes at the event, Recording Gospel Reggae Artiste, Tamunoiduabia Okoseimiema popularly known as Jesus Boy commended the leadership of PMAN in the state for opening its doors to give the gospel community a sense of belonging for the first time in history since the existence of PMAN in the state.
He assured that the PMAN Gospel Community will do its best to ensure that gospel music in the state becomes a most sort after in the country and in other parts of the world.
Other state executives and gospel music artistes present at the event included PMAN Deputy Governor, Zamora, Maestro Vic, Tagi Gabriel, Najite El-David, Pamela Scott, Sista Mercie and others.
