The Chairman of the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition, Engr. Dr. Legborsi Yamaabana, has unequivocally condemned the recent assassination attempt on the life of Hon. Osaro Solsuema, the Rivers State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the State Chairman of the Inter party Advisory Council (IPAC).
"I strongly condemn the assassination attempt on the life of Hon. Osaro Solsuema, who has been a steadfast advocate for democratic principles in Rivers State. This attack is not just an assault on him but an attempt to silence democratic voices, along with all those who uphold and promote good democratic governance in Rivers State,"
Dr. Yamaabana stated. Dr. Yamaabana, who also serves as the President General of the Ogoni Youth Federation, recalled a similar attempt on his life in 2023, during which he lost his car and other valuable possessions while escaping from his assailants.
He called on the Commissioner of Police and the Director of the State Security Service to conduct a thorough investigation, apprehend those responsible, and ensure they are brought to justice. Dr. Yamaabana emphasize that this attack is one of too many and should not go unpunished.
