The Chairman of the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition and Supervisor for Youth Affairs in Khana Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Legborsi Yamaabana has strongly criticized Hon. Chief Tony Okocha's faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State for alleging that Governor Siminalayi Fubara was behind the recent purported attacks on the party's secretariat. Chief Okocha, through his Media Aide, accused Governor Fubara of orchestrating end bad governance protests against President Bola Tinubu.

Okocha claimed that the protesters targeted the party's office on Aba Road, but were thwarted by security personnel. Dr. Yamaabana, who also serves as the President General of the Ogoni Youth Federation, challenged these accusations, questioning how protesters could breach an office protected by heavily armed security forces. He urged President Bola Tinubu to disregard Okocha’s statements, labeling them as part of a larger conspiracy by Okocha and his allies to sow discord between the federal government and the Rivers State government, thereby furthering their goal of destabilizing the state.

Dr. Yamaabana called on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Security Service to immediately summon Chief Okocha for questioning, demanding he provide evidence to support his claims of Governor Fubara’s involvement in the protests.

Dr. Yamaabana, who also contested for the House of Representatives for the Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, urged the people of Rivers State and Nigerians to dismiss Hon. Okocha's baseless accusations. He noted that Okocha is following a pattern established by his sponsors, who have a history of making unfounded accusations against prominent Nigerians without providing evidence to support their claims.
